Thank You!

The Haywood Community Band (HCB) has performed for over two decades. Founded by life-long musicians, HCB introduces audiences to a variety of music literature ranging from the classics to great American composers to current hits.

Bringing musical delight is only one goal for the 50+ member ensemble. HCB encourages personal growth and career interest for young performers in need. To start, HCB provides loan instruments for musicians in middle and high schools. An amazing $25,000 has been awarded for talented stars to attend summer band camps and provide college scholarships for Haywood County graduates seeking music degrees.

Why an Endowment?

In 2022, HCB received an incredible gift of $10,000 from the Maggie Valley Civic Association. The HCB board determined that this would be a grand opportunity to sustain band music in Haywood County forever!

A few band members and supporters stepped forward with additional funds to secure the first $25,000 needed to establish a HCB endowment with the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. HCB's initial endowment goal is $50,000 that will eventually grow to an investment of $100,000 within ten years.
