Stephen Razo, music director of the growing Haywood Community Band, has an honored personal history of serving our nation as a band conductor for the United States Air Force.
It’s an achievement few are able to accomplish. After a rigorous audition in 1982, he was selected as an officer from a nation-wide competitive field of experienced musicians.
“Wearing a military uniform and being assigned to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs immediately fulfilled my need to serve my country and develop a great sense of patriotic duty,” Razo said.
