THE BAND
Our Goal
Music is our passion. We love sharing our music with the community, but we also love helping the younger generation become great musicians. The band has two important ways that we help young music students in Haywood and surrounding counties of Western North Carolina. Those are our college and band camp scholarship program and our LINKs program. See our Community Outreach page for more information on these.
Meet the Band
The Haywood Community Band is a joyful blend of generations and life experiences, united by a shared love of music. Our members range from talented middle schoolers to inspiring nonagenarians, bringing with them rich backgrounds in medicine, education, business, the arts, military service, ministry, hospitality, and more. Some are seasoned professionals; others are picking up their instruments again after decades away. What unites us is a passion for playing, a commitment to community, and the simple joy of making music together — for ourselves, our audiences, and the place we call home.

Rehearsal Schedule & Location

How to Join
Contact HCB by leaving us a message via email at haywoodband7@gmail.com. Tell us a little about yourself including your instrument and experience. We will get back to you and give you details on how to visit the band during a rehearsal to see if it’s the right fit for you. There are no auditions to join the band. You just need time for rehearsals and concerts and love making music with your neighbors and giving back to your community.
