Musical song and dance play an indelible role towards cultural Identity with the unique sounds of different cultures very much ingrained in the music. In this performance, you will hear English dances, Spanish songs, a Celtic Jig, beautiful Gershwin melodies, and other sounds that define emotions and experiences across various cultures.

Music can certainly be considered a repository of various cultural stories, folk songs and traditions. Think of this performance as our way to make certain that music is ensuring the continuity of culture across generations.

Our upcoming patriotic concerts on June 29 (Lake Junaluska Stuart Auditorium Tent) and July 6 (Calvary Road Baptist Church, Maggie Valley) will be our annual salute to Old Glory.

The Haywood Community Band will present an entertaining and inspiring musical tribute to America as we honor our country and the people dedicated to preserving our freedom. From Yankee Doodle to George Gershwin, expect a true flag-waver performance featuring our endless parade of firecracker musicians dazzling you all the way down to the tips of your star-spangled toes!
Both concerts begin at 4:00 pm.

Summertime in the Smoky Mountains is always a very special time for those of us lucky enough to live here. This is where the mountains meet the sky. Our mountains are not only a physical challenge, they also represent a rejuvenation of positive attitudes…the ultimate attitude adjustment!
